Melissa has over 15 years of clinical skincare and spa treatment experience. After investing many of those years in hands-on client work and training for treatment of specific skin conditions, such as hyper-pigmentation, rosacea, acne prone skin, premature aging, and post-surgical care, Melissa opened her namesake skincare studio in 2007. With a commitment to holistic skin health, Melissa’s mission is to help clients maintain their best healthy skin over time, catering to unique needs, goals, lifestyles, and skin type.
With this in mind, if you know exactly what you want when you walk in the door, you’ll receive excellent care in Melissa’s hands. And if you’re unsure, Melissa will analyze your skin, ask probing questions about your routine and products, and customize a treatment plan that best addresses your profile. This is why so many of her clients view Melissa as much more than an esthetician—She has been called a skin therapist, skin coach, primary care clinician for skin, and even a skin fairy godmother, this last one coined by Daily Candy San Francisco.
Melissa has also earned these titles because of her constant devotion to skincare research and the latest treatment innovations, ensuring that her clients receive the benefits of the most advanced products and techniques. Melissa’s Intraceuticals oxygen infusions, detoxifying lymphatic drainage technique, and no-mark-left-behind extraction method are just a few examples of her commitment to staying on the forefront of skincare innovation and treatment excellence.
And Melissa’s skin expertise doesn’t stop at treatment. She offers make-up services in her studio and is a traveling make-up artist for many high profile San Franciscans and Los Angeles based celebrities. Melissa makes house calls for make-up application, offers bridal packages, and will get you red carpet ready for any special event.
When she’s not at her studio, Melissa loves spending time with her husband, James, and 8-year-old son, William. Next time you’re in the studio, ask Melissa about her decade-long career as a chef! Before she moved into skincare, Melissa clocked 100-hour workweeks in renowned culinary establishments, under the tutelage of distinguished chef mentors. Food is one of her passions, and she credits much of her approach to skincare and her work ethic to her previous career as a chef.
